Hi there.
I'm Max, dreamer & designer.

Good design is about understanding the details.

I’m a UX and Product Design Director with deep experience building high-performing design teams, shaping product strategy, and delivering accessible, user-centred digital experiences at scale.

I was a founding member of Depop, where I helped shape the early product and design culture, and I currently lead Product Design and UX at Beauty Pie, working across mobile, web, and platform experiences in a fast-growing, product-led organisation.

My work sits at the intersection of user needs, business strategy, and technology. I’m particularly passionate about:
• Designing inclusive and accessible products
• Turning complex problems into clear, usable experiences
• Coaching designers to grow into confident, impactful leaders
• Partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Executive teams

I often describe myself as a “people watcher” — observing how people behave, decide, and interact with technology is where most of my design insight comes from. That curiosity has taken me across multiple disciplines, from early graphic and industrial design to large-scale digital platforms and design systems.

Alongside my role, I’m a startup advisor, accessibility advocate, and public speaker, supporting teams and organisations as they scale their products and design maturity.

I still sketch with pencil and paper before moving into Figma — some habits are worth keeping.
